17-year-old school girl raped, killed in Muhoroni

Police in Muhoroni Sub-county, Kisumu County are investigating the rape and brutal murder of a 17-year-old female student whose decomposing body was found dumped in a sugarcane plantation in Migingo area. The body was discovered on Friday, March 14. The half-naked body had visible strangle wounds on the neck with police suspecting that she was defiled before her life was taken away. The deceased, a form four student at Nyando Mixed Secondary Day School in Muhoroni, was reported missing on Monday, March 10 by her parents after she failed to return home from school. Police have arrested Lawrence Owuor, 30, in connection with the killing.
