Assistant chief interdicted over campaign violence in Kasipul Constituency by-election

Nyalenda Assistant chief Hemstone Gumbo has been interdicted following the brutal killings of two youths in Kasipul during violent campaign clashes in West Kamagak Ward. Police Commander Lawrence J. Kowlem said that Gumbo would face further action if investigations linked him directly to the murders of Ben Ondiegi and Bruno Ondoro. Ben Ondiegi and Bruno Ondoro were dragged to the assistant chief’s home, where they were allegedly fatally assaulted in the presence of Gumbo and ODM candidate Boyd Were. Ondiegi and Ondoro were said to be supporters of independent candidate Philip Aroko. Bruno Ondoro’s said the family said he will be buried on November 24. The family has also denied claims that they rejected Kshs 300,000 donation from Governor Gladys Wanga. They said no politician had visited their home since the tragedy.
