Former ODM Operative Silas Jakakimba Joins UDA in Bid to Win Suba North Seat

Azimio leader Raila Odinga's former aide Silas Jakakimba has officially joined the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. Jakakiimba, who hails from Mfangano Island, has declared interest in Suba North Parliamentary seat. He will be fighting to success Millie Odhiambo, who has served for more than 20 years in parliament, first as a nominated MP. She later succeeded the Late Otieno Kajwang who was elected the first Senator from Homa Bay County. Millie was recently appointed the opposition whip in Parliament after some ODM lawmakers and officials joined the government of President Ruto in a broad-based government negotiated in a secret deal with Azimio leader Raila Odinga. That deal saw ODM chairman John Mbadi join the government as Finance Minister. Others are Hassan John, former deputy party leader, who became ministers for marines and blue economy. Former Kakamega County Governor Wycliff Oparanya was appointed Corporative Development minister, while ODM director of political affairs and MP for Ugunja Opiyo Wandayi was appointed Energy minister.
