Government partners with Huawei to aid Karachuonyo tech center

The national government has teamed up with Huawei to provide technical training and equipment to youths in Karachuonyo Constituency. The program, initiated by Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, will train and provide equipment to the youth in Karachuonyo to be competitive in digital economy. Omollo said the mobile digital hub initiative will empower participants with essential information, communication and technology skills to access online opportunities, enhance entrepreneurship and drive innovation. Through integration of digital literacy into grassroots communities, the program aligns with the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda to ensure no Kenyan is left behind. Local junior school teachers have pointed out that the main problem facing digital literacy is lack of classrooms and equipment.
