Feb 23, 2026
The Homa Bay County Assembly has removed three Members of County Assembly from the influential House Business Committee following a reorganization carried out as the House resumed from recess on Monday, February 10. Those ousted from the committee are Vickins Bondo of West Kasipul, Tonny Otheo of Arujo Ward, and Pauline Oyoo, a nominated MCA. The three have been replaced by Oyugi Doreen of East Kamagak, nominated MCA Margaret Owenje, and Ojala Nyang’i of Kochia Ward. The House Business Committee now continues to operate with its full membership of 13. West Kasipul MCA Vickins Bondo claimed their removal was linked to their association with Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, whom they visited during the recess period. Leader of the Majority Party Richard Ogindo, alongside Kabondo Kasipul MCA Bob Obondo and other members of the Assembly, unanimously supported the committee’s reconstitution. They described the reshuffle as timely and aimed at promoting balance to enhance effective service delivery. Ogindo has declared interest in the Ndhiwa Parliamentary seat in 2027.
