Ida Odinga calls it an honor as she accepts UNEP ambassador appointment

Ida Odinga, widow of the late ODM party leader Raila Odinga, said she is honored to serve as Kenya’s permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Program. She said that she was happy about the appointment and will serve the country with honor. “To me it is an honour, and I am happy about it,” Ida said on Sunday. January 26 at a church service in Nairobi. “These days, every time I switch on the TV, I see they are talking about me. Every time I buy the newspaper, it's 'Ida Odinga.' But I don’t fear anything; God is with me,” Ida Odinga said. President William Ruto on January 23 appointed Ida to the position, which fell vacant after Ababu Namwamba’s reassignment as Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda.
