John Mbadi celebrates appointment as Finance Minister

MAGUNGA - Minister for Finance and Economic Planning John Mbadi said he will go an extra mile to rejuvenate the country’s hailing economy. The former nominated MP on Thursday, August 29 was given a hero’s welcome in Magunga in Suba South Constituency during a homecoming party attended by President William Ruto. Mbadi thanked the president for the appointment, promising to serve the whole country. Mbadi, who served as the area MP for 15 years, was installed a Suba elder. "I have always wanted to be minister for Finance in my life. That is the plain truth. I started eyeing this position in the 2013 General Election," Mbadi said. Mbadi said time had come to forget politics of ethnicity and division in the country. “We are one nation called Kenya. We should do away with politics of ethnicity and division and concentrate on development,” Mbadi said. Mbadi was recently appointed to the Cabinet as part of a broad-based government crafted by President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
