John Mbadi declares interest to inherit Raila Odinga’s political base and seek presidency in 2032

Treasury Minister John Mbadi wants to run for president in 2032. Mbadi, who is a former MP for Suba South and ODM party chairman, said he is ready to replace the late Raila Odinga as the party's presidential candidate. “I want to say that Raila’s shoes are too big for me to wear. I, Mbadi, cannot fit in Raila’s shoes, but I will make shoes that fit my legs. I am ready, and I have started following Raila’s footsteps and the journey to Canaan. How many are ready to go to Canaan with me? We can only go to Canaan through President William Ruto. That is why, in 2032, I will be vying for the presidency. Nobody will bring the presidency to you at home. I must traverse the country, build networks and friendships, and give my people hope. I only want one seat—the presidency—and I will win," Mbadi said in Sori, Nyatike Constituency. Mbadi said he was ready to lead the Luo community and run for the presidency in 2032.
