KCSE 2025 RESULTS – Suba North secondary schools' performance highlights

Mbita High School has emerged top in Suba North in the newly released 2025 KCSE results. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced the national results on January 8 at Chebisaas High School in Eldoret. Nationwide, 1,932 candidates scored an A, while more than 270,000 students — about 27 percent — qualified for direct university entry with a C+ and above. A total of 993,226 candidates sat the exam. Mbita High School posted strong results, ranking seventh in the Nyanza region. Out of 525 candidates, the school recorded 37 A plains, 113 A?minuses, and an overall mean score of 9.26. About 483 students qualified for university. Tom Mboya High School in Rusinga also performed well, with 139 of its 163 candidates securing university entry grades — an 85 percent transition rate. The top candidate, Otieno Josephat Odhiambo, scored an A plain. At Waondo Secondary, 38 of the 192 candidates attained C+ and above, with the school posting a mean score of 4.86. In Mfangano Island, Wakula Mixed registered 10 candidates, while Nyakweri Mixed had 14 candidates, most scoring in the D range. Ogola Jaseme Secondary presented 26 candidates, with several scoring B?minus and C+ grades. Waware Mixed also recorded about 40 students qualifying for university. Harrison Odhiambo Utajo Mixed Day School had 16 candidates, while Rusinga Girls registered 35 candidates, with 19 earning direct university entry. Wandiji Mixed Secondary School presented 25 candidates, most scoring in the D range. Other schools presenting candidates in the 2025 KCSE include Kamasengre Mixed, St. Joseph Kakringu, and Wanyama Mixed.
