Man buried alive in Bondo gold mine collapse

A 30-year-old man was killed and another one seriously injured after a gold mining shaft collapsed in Gobei, Bondo Sub-county. The mining site manager Philip Chunga said the miner, whose first name was given as Bernard, died after the shaft collapsed and buried him alive. Bernard was with three other miners when the shaft crumbled and covered them alive. Other miners managed to rescue two people. The injured miner was taken to Bondo Sub-county Hospital for treatment.
