
Moi University Council sacked, Prof Noah Midamba named new chairman

The government has dissolved Moi University Council. Prof. Noah Midamba was named the new chairperson of the council amid management crisis that has grounded the university to a halt. Midamba previously served as Kenya College of Accounting University vice chancellor until 2021. The new council members are Prof. Ronald Wasike, Dr. Mercy Nyambura Kanyara, Dr. Edward Sambili and Anne Weceke Makori. Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba said the change take effect on January 17, 2025. Ogamba fired Dr. Humphrey Kimani Njuguna, Prof Clara Samiji Momanyi, Christopher Khaemba, Eusilah Jepkosgei Ngeny, and Susan Amlango Aletia. Prof. Midamba will serve as the chairman of the council for three years.
