Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie over remarks she made on Saturday, November 15 challenging ODM party’s national leadership. Winnie Odinga wondered whether the new party leadership under Senator Oburu Odinga and Chairman Gladys Wanga is capable of navigating the broad-based deal negotiated between the late party leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto. Millie Odhiambo noted that Winnie is a young girl who has lost her father. She added the East Africa Legislative Assembly lawmaker is still morning her father, a person you she loved deeply. Millie said that Winnie and the rest of the Odinga family are still morning and the loss of Raila Odinga and cannot satisfy the demands of Kenyans on steering ODM's political future. The MP said that there are many dissenting voices among some ODM members. This has put pressure on Raila's elder brother Oburu Oginga, 82, who was elected the new party leader. Millie said that Winnie was close to Raila. She should be allowed time to mourn her father as she is also being poised to fit into his shoes. The Suba North MP said that Winnie is worried that people might challenge his uncle’s authority because she thinks that maybe the party is rushing things. Millie said that the recent change in leadership be properly validated, so it does not look like imposing the Odingas to take over the party leadership. The Suba North MP said that Raila’s death has left a vacuum that cannot be filled quickly.
