ODM Opens Early Applications for 2027 Election Candidates and Sets June 30th Deadline

The Orange Democratic Movement has invited aspirants seeking to contest in the 2027 General Election to submit their applications by June 30. In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 12, the party announced that applications are open for all six elective positions — president, governor, senator, Member of Parliament, Member of County Assembly, and woman representative. The faction led by Senator Oburu Odinga said the application process will be conducted through the party’s online portal, giving prospective candidates just over six weeks to formalize their bids. ODM’s National Elections Coordinating Committee chairperson Emily Awita said the early application window is intended to lay the groundwork for credible and transparent party nominations ahead of the 2027 polls. The party further noted that all applicants must be registered voters to qualify for participation in the ODM primary elections.
