President Ruto donates Ksh. 2 million for Albert Ojwang funeral expenses

President William Ruto has donated Ksh. 2 million toward the funeral expenses of the later Albert Ojwang, a teacher and blogger who died after being tortured by the police. Ruto assured Kenyans that a thorough and transparent investigation will be conducted by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority. Ruto, who spoke with Ojwang’s father, Meshack Opiyo, expressed sympathy and pledged government support. Opiyo said that the president was sincere in his word, adding that he was "sorry" about Ojwang's death. ODM party leader Raila Odinga also visited the family, pledging an additional Ksh. 1 million.
