President William Ruto commissions Shs. 1.3 billion Rusinga Ring Road

President William Ruto on Sunday, March 22 officially commissioned the Rusinga Ring Road. The event was attended by a number of national and county leaders, including Governors Gladys Wanga of Homa Bay and Ochilo Ayacko of Migori, Senators Moses Kajwang and Eddie Oketch, MPs Millie Mabona, Peter Kaluma, Junet Mohammed and Joyce Osogo, Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo of Internal Security, Ministers Opiyo Wandayi, Davis Chirchir and John Mbadi as well as businessman Sammy Wakiaga. President Ruto said the government will tarmac Mfangano Ring Road, Kamasengre Road and Ulugi Road. The president added that a new technical college to be named for Tom Mboya will be built in Kamasengre. Ruto said that regions previously perceived as marginalized, including Nyanza, are now benefiting from national development programs. “For a long time, some regions were left behind. That will not happen again. Every part of this country will receive its fair share of development,” the president said. Governor Wanga praised the broad-based government, saying it has opened up Nyanza region for development.
