Professor Thomas Onyango hacked to death in land dispute in Rusinga Island

A professor at The Technical University College was hacked to death at his rural home in Rusinga, Homa Bay County. Professor Thomas Onyango was attacked by a neighbor as he and his father put boundary posts in a disputed land on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Professor Onyango was killed on the spot while his father was rushed to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The whereabouts of the attacker is unknown.
