Raila Odinga defends Governors Orengo and Anyang’ Nyong'o over broad-based government
Apr 27, 2025
ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has urged party members to “go slow” on governors James Orengo of Siaya and Anyany Nyongo of Kisumu, saying their attacks on the broad-based government formed by President William Ruto and ODM are based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by ODM and UDA. Raila said that ODM and UDA have not formed a coalition. The two parties have signed a MoU to support the government. Raila said that ODM has not joined the government of Ruto. Raila spoke on Friday, April 25 during the burial of Priscillah Koyo, the wife of former Luo Council of Elders Chairman Koyo Opien at Gendia in Karachuonyo Constituency. ODM leaders have accused Orengo and Nyong’o of undermining the political relationship between Ruto and Raila.
