Ethics and Anti-Commission Commission officers have arrested Rongo Member of Parliament Paul Abuor in connection with embezzlement of more than Kshs. 122 million from the National Government Constituency Development Fund. The MP, who was arrested on January 23, is accused of awarding contracts to companies linked to him between 2015 and 2017. EACC said the lawmaker registered two companies with a relative, Christopher Nelson Abuor, and his personal assistant and contracted them to construct classrooms and drill boreholes within Rongo Constituency. Aztec Infrastructure Kenya Limited, where the MP is the sole director, has received Ksh.122 million from the NG-CDF. Another company, Jebset Holdings Limited, received Ksh.19.6 million. The MP has denied the accusations.
