
Ruto names new ambassadors in government changes

President William Ruto has named new ambassadors and consul-generals to service in the country's missions abroad. Alfred Ombudo K'Ombundo, who previously serviced as the principal secretary for trade, was nominated as deputy head of mission in Brussels, Belgium. K’Ombudo is widely credited with negotiating a number of trade agreements for the government. He designed and implemented economic development, trade, and investment projects while working in senior positions at the World Bank Group, the United Nations Development Program, and the International Trade Centre. Former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha Wafula is the new permanent representative to the UN Habitat, Nairobi. James Buyekane Muhati was nominated as the consul-general in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. Abdi Dubat Fidhow goes to Arusha, Tanzania as consul general. Former Sports Principal Secretary Peter Tum will be Kenya’s ambassador in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Geoffrey Eyanae Kaituko will go to Rome, Italy as deputy head of Mission.
