Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga has defended the broad-based government partnership that has unified part of the opposition and President William Ruto's administration. Oburu said in Migori County that the partnership will help deliver service delivery to all Kenyans, and it should not be criticized. He told those staging a defense against the new faction to pave way for development and allow the Nyanza region to enjoy the fruits of the agreement. "If you want to fight there is a space where you can do that, for us, our people are waiting for these services. It's our time to work and our people are waiting for it and not to eat anybody's shares," he said. "We will eat our shares rightfully given to us because we are taxpayers like any other Kenyan." Oburu dared Governor James Orengo of Siaya to leave the ODM if he is dissatisfied with the pact between Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga. “I don't know my governor Orengo is annoyed, is annoyed with who, the truth of the matter is ODM is in broad-based government, the likes of Orengo are vomiting on us, why don't they move out and vomit there,” Oburu said. Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi supported Oburu, noting that those who have joined the government bear no regrets and will continue showing support for Ruto's leadership. "We have been in political partnerships before, but if there is any partnership that is well guided is the one that we have with Ruto," he said. Treasury Secretay John Mbadi, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, and Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi supported Oburu’s statement.
