Bodyguard and driver among nine suspects arrested in connection with MP Ongondo Were assassination

Police have arrested nine suspects in connection with the murder of the MP for Kasipul Ongondo Were. Were's bodyguard Allan Omondi Ogolla and his driver, Walter Owino, were arrested after being linked to a criminal gang accused of murdering the lawmaker. The MP was shot dead on Wednesday, April 30, in Nairobi evening traffic by a gunman whose accomplice was riding a motorbike. Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen said that suspects in Were’s murder included people who were assigned to protect the MP.
