Government releases Sh3.3 billion for the construction of the 60 kilometre Mfangano Island Ring Road

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has defended the broad-based government arrangement between President William Ruto’s government and the Orange Democratic Movement, saying leaders and residents in the Nyanza region are increasingly shifting from opposition politics to active participation in government. Kindiki announced major government investments in the region, among them Sh3.3 billion for He said the era of sustained opposition politics in Nyanza had run its course, adding that many residents are now embracing collaboration with government to accelerate development. Kindiki said in Suba South that ODM supporters are now prioritizing service delivery and development, noting that the new cooperation framework was initiated by ODM leader Raila Odinga. Kindiki was accompanied by senior ODM and government officials, including Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, and Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang.
