Kasipul MP Charles Ong'ondo Were shot dead in Nairobi

Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong'ondo Were was killed in Nairobi by two assassins riding a motorcycle. Ongondo Were was fatally shot at around 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 near the City Mortuary roundabout. The legislator, who was on the passenger side of his official car, was attacked by two assailants riding a motorbike. One of the gunmen alighted from the motorbike and opened fire at close range. The MP was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Ong'ondo was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket. He won re-election in 2022. Ongondo Were’s assassination comes soon after the Member of County Assembly for West Kasipup was attacked in Nairobi.
