SUBA NORTH— Young people from across the constituency on Friday took part in a comprehensive engagement on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), during a forum convened by the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) in partnership with the youth empowerment initiative, MY TIME.
The sessions focused on equipping adolescents and young adults with accurate SRHR information, strengthening their ability to make informed health decisions, and encouraging their participation in community development. Organizers said the initiative is part of a broader effort to build a healthier, more empowered generation in Suba North.
Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo attended the event, telling participants that she has sponsored more legislation in the National Assembly than any other member, a record she attributes to her long-standing commitment to public service. Odhiambo was first nominated to Parliament in 2008, marking the beginning of her legislative career.
The forum also featured civic education, with officers from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the Department of Registration of Persons on-site to assist youth with voter education, registration processes, and national I.D. acquisition.
Leaders described the day’s activities as a significant step toward strengthening youth participation in both public health and democratic processes in Suba North.
