A Kisumu court has ordered three men accused of attacking Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi to remain in police custody pending further investigations. Kisumu Magistrate Daniel Chumba ruled that the suspects — Eric Otieno, Carlos Owiti, and Vincent Odhiambo — will continue to be held at Kisumu Central Police Station. The trio has been charged with robbery with violence. Senator Osotsi was assaulted on April 8 at a Java Restaurant in Kisumu, where he was meeting a female friend. Police said a group of armed men confronted the senator and accused him of opposing the government of President William Ruto. The court granted each of the accused a bond of Ksh1 million and set the matter for mention on May 6, 2026.
