Veteran Mayienga radio broadcaster Festus Amimo found dead at a Nairobi hotel

Popular newscaster Festus Amimo has died. Police said that Amimo was found unresponsive at a hotel in Nairobi near Central Police Station on Sunday, December 7, 2025. His body was taken to the City Mortuary for postmortem. Amimo, who was popularly known as Wuod Awasi, was the head of KBC Dholuo – Mayienga Radio and chairman of the Luo Journalists Association. The journalist leaves behind a wife and children. He recently declared interest in the Nyando Parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections.
